Russia and the ICRC are closely working together on the humanitarian aspects of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. We highly value the input of the ICRC in these efforts.
On instructions by President of the Russian Federation Mr.Vladimir Putin a voluntary contribution of two million Swiss francs was made in response to the Budgetary Extension Appeal of the ICRC in relation to Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In accordance with the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation No.3209-R dated 4 December 2020 the contribution will be used to cover expenditures on the ICRC᾽s operations addressing humanitarian consequences of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Russia and the ICRC will continue to enhance their partnership in the humanitarian field.

Russia presented advanced developments in the field of nuclear and space industries at the WIPO exhibition in Geneva
The exhibition demonstrating Russia's technological innovations in space, nuclear energy and computer technology opened on Monday at the headquarters of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva. The Russian stand was organized by the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations Office in Geneva in partnership with Rospatent, Rosatom and Roskosmos.
Visitors can take a virtual trip around the site of the pilot demonstration energy complex (PDEC) of the Proryv project. The Proryv Project implemented by the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom is aimed at achieving a new quality of nuclear energy, development, creation and industrial implementation of closed nuclear fuel cycle (CNFC) based on fast reactors that will lead to development of a large-scale nuclear power industry. The project involves more than 30 companies. During the virtual “trip” on the PDEC site, visitors are given the opportunity to view the reactor BREST-OD-300 and fuel fabrication process and see the spherical photo panoramas of current construction site.

Mr Ryder, ladies and gentlemen. On behalf of the Russian Federation, I am glad to greet all participants of the 108thsession of the International Labour Conference that is taking place on the 100th anniversary of the International Labour Organisation.
The ILO is one of the oldest and, undoubtedly, most reputable international organisations.  Since its establishment in 1919, the organisation has been consistently defending workers’ interests, their right to decent working conditions, workplace safety and social protection. The national labour laws of many countries are based on ILO conventions. Of course, Russia is no exception.

On 17 January 2019 H.E.Ambassador Gennady Gatilov, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Office and other International Organizations in Geneva deposited to Mr.Guy Ryder, Director-General of the International Labour Organization the instrument of ratification by the Russian Federation of the 2014 Protocol to the Forced Labour Convention of 1930.

The Fifty-Eighth Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of WIPO is taken place at the WIPO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland (September 24 to October 2, 2018).
The Assembly will determine the directions for further development of the intellectual property (IP) sphere. The agenda of the meetings includes discussion of the entire spectrum of IP issues: patent law, copyright and related rights, trademarks and industrial designs, geographical indications, appellations of origin and others.

On February 8, 2018 during the meeting with Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization Mr.Francis Gurry Deputy Permanent Representative Mr.Nikita Zhukov deposited the instrument of accession
to Marrakesh Treaty to Facilitate Access to Published Works for Persons Who Are Blind, Visually Impaired or Otherwise Print Disabled.
The Russian Federation actively participates in WIPO's activities
on international legal regulation of copyright and related rights protection,
in particular, in the Beijing Treaty on Audiovisual Performances, and beginning
on May 9, 2018 will become the 34th State-Party to the Marrakesh Treaty.

Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) on the Establishment of the WIPO Representative Office in the Russian Federation.

We would like to highlight the influence of terrorism on investment climate, especially in the context of the ongoing crisis in the global economy. Terrorist threat has become one of the indicators for economic entities which is comparable in significance to armed conflicts, especially since the actions of terrorists have acquired some "business features" in recent years – attacks targeting specific companies, particularly those involved in the oil and gas industry, have become more frequent.
