1972: graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Fluent in English and Arabic

Since 1972: held various diplomatic posts in the central office of the Foreign Ministry and abroad

1972-1977: Attaché, Third Secretary at the Embassy of the USSR in Egypt

1977-1980: Third Secretary at the Directorate of International Organizations

1980-1984: Second Secretary, First Secretary at the Embassy of the USSR in Jordan

1984-1992: First Secretary, Counsellor, Expert, Division Head at the Directorate of International Organizations

1992-1997: Head of Political Section (Senior Counsellor), Permanent Mission to the UN

1997-1999: Deputy Director of the Department of International Organizations

1999-2004: First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN

2004-2008: Senior Adviser at the UN Secretary-General’s Executive Office

2008-2011: Director of the Department of International Organizations

2011: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

31 January 2018: Appointed as Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva and Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the Conference on Disarmament.

Participated in the work of General Assembly sessions and other international forums, held the position of Deputy Representative to the UN Security Council

Holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary

Awarded the Order of Honour and the Order of Friendship

Married, with a daughter
